A hands-on workshop on β€œA Hands-on LaTeX Workshop – From Idea to Professional Project Report” was organized on 24 September 2026 by the Department of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) and Department of Computer Science & Design (CSD) in association with AISE, ACODE Associations & IEEE-SB at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The workshop aimed to introduce students to LaTeX, a professional document preparation system widely used for preparing academic and technical documents. The session focused on helping students understand how LaTeX can be used to create well-structured and professionally formatted project reports, particularly for engineering and academic purposes. Participants were introduced to the basic concepts of LaTeX and the process of creating, formatting, and organizing a professional document. The session was conducted by Prof. Sowmya, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Science & Engineering, who provided a practical and hands-on demonstration of LaTeX. Students were guided through the preparation of academic documents and gained practical exposure to document structure, formatting, headings, sections, tables, equations, references, and other essential elements required for preparing professional project reports. The hands-on approach enabled students to follow the demonstrations and practice the concepts during the session. Students actively participated in the workshop and explored the various features of LaTeX for preparing technical and academic documents. The session helped students understand how LaTeX can improve the organization, consistency, and professional presentation of project reports. The workshop also encouraged students to adopt appropriate tools and practices for preparing high-quality technical documentation. The successful organization of this workshop was made possible through the continued support and encouragement of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, whose vision promotes academic excellence, technical learning, and professional development. The event was organized under the leadership of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department of Information Science & Engineering, and with the coordination of Prof. Prajwal K S, Event Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Design, whose efforts contributed to the smooth and successful execution of the workshop.
