The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with STEADY and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a live telecast session of SEMICON India 2026 on 17th September 2026. The session provided students with an opportunity to virtually experience one of India’s major semiconductor industry events and gain exposure to developments in semiconductor manufacturing, chip design, artificial intelligence, advanced packaging, electronics systems, research and development, and semiconductor ecosystem development.

The session exposed students to the rapidly changing semiconductor landscape and the increasing importance of semiconductors in Artificial Intelligence, high-performance computing, data centres, automotive electronics, power electronics and advanced digital systems.

Students gained an understanding of how semiconductor technology is becoming increasingly integrated with AI, cloud computing, automotive systems, industrial electronics and other emerging applications.

The telecast was particularly relevant to ECE students as the topics discussed at SEMICON India 2026 closely connect classroom learning with current industrial developments. Concepts studied in subjects such as Digital Electronics, VLSI, Embedded Systems, Microprocessors, Communication Systems, AI and Electronics are directly related to the technologies discussed during the sessions.
