Disrupting Mobility Startup Ideas in Aero and Auto Engineering

The Department of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering, in association with the Yukthi Innovation Cell, Incubation & Startup Cell, EDP Cell and IIC, organized the “Disrupting Mobility: Startup Ideas in Aero and Auto Engineering” on 26th November 2025 at 2:00 PM in Room M503, Mechanical Block, SIT, Mangaluru. The program was organized to motivate students to present their innovative ideas and gain exposure to entrepreneurial possibilities with guidance from the Yukthi Innovation Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) Cell, Incubation & Startup Cell, and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). During the event, students delivered project pitches that were assessed by faculty mentors and subject experts, who offered valuable suggestions to help improve and convert the ideas into feasible solutions. The program not only boosted students’ confidence in showcasing their innovations but also highlighted the crucial role of Yukthi Innovation Cell, EDP, Incubation, and IIC in mentoring aspiring innovators and supporting them in transforming ideas into sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.

The event was effectively organized under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Shenoy, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering and IIC Coordinator. The program was spearheaded by Dr. Soorya Krishna K, EDP Cell Coordinator; Prof. Shailesh Shetty, Incubation & Startup Cell Coordinator; Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar, Yukthi Cell Coordinator; and Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai, Head of the Department of Automobile Engineering. The Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., highlighted the importance of fostering creativity and entrepreneurship as essential contributors to institutional development. Mr. Jagadeesh B, Yukthi Cell, EDP Cell and I&SC Department Coordinator, played a key role in facilitating the smooth and successful conduct of the program.
