PLANTATION AND ADAPTATION OF A TREE
Plantation involves the systematic cultivation and management of plants, primarily aimed at harvesting them for various purposes such as food production, medicinal use, and ornamental applications. With the objective of promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices, the Association of Information Science and Engineering (AISE) and the Association of Computer Science and Design (ACODE) jointly organized a session titled “Plantation and Adaptation of a Tree” for third-semester ISE and CSD students at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, on January 05 2026.
The session was conducted by Prof. Sudarshan K., Head of the Department, ISE & CSD, who highlighted the importance of tree plantation and explained effective methods to adapt and nurture plants according to environmental conditions. He encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices such as using organic manure, watering plants regularly, and maintaining growth records. As part of the initiative, plants were distributed to student groups, fostering hands-on learning and a sense of responsibility toward nature.
The program was supported by our beloved Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, and was successfully executed under the leadership of Dr. Suryanarayana K, Head of the Physics Department and Prof. Sudarshan K., Head of the Department, ISE & CSD. The event was coordinated by Prof. Sowmya, Staff Advisor of AISE, and Prof. Archana D., Staff Advisor of ACODE, under the guidance of Ms. Aparna N, Department of ISE.
