The Department of Marine Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDP), successfully organized a workshop on “Embedded Systems and IoT Using Arduino for IDT” on 27 May 2026.

The workshop was conducted with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to embedded systems, Arduino programming, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications relevant to innovative IDT projects. The session was handled by Mr. Ashwin Bhat, 3rd Year EC student and Techbots Workshop Coordinator, who demonstrated various Arduino-based applications and explained the fundamentals of sensors, microcontrollers, and IoT integration.

Students of first-year engineering from various branches actively participated in the workshop and gained hands-on knowledge about Arduino interfacing, embedded system design, and real-time IoT implementations. Mr. Ashwin Bhat, along with his teammates, members, and office bearers of Techbots, served as mentors for each project group and guided the participants throughout the hands-on sessions and project activities.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Sathisha K.G., Prof. Chandra Jogi, and Prof. Sunil Prakash R., Event Coordinators; Prof. Vivek V Kumar, AIMES Coordinator; Dr. Soorya Krishna K., EDP Cell Coordinator; Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator; and Dr. Lokesh V., Head of the Department of Marine Engineering, with the valuable support and encouragement of the Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D.
