Prototype To Product
The Department of MBA, CSBS & CSE, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a session titled on “Prototype To Product” on 9 and 11th May 2026. Mr.Keerthik D U, Director Skill Sync and Mr. Sudharma, CTO, Skill Sync conducted the session. Prof. Ashwini from MBA Department, Prof. Pratheeksha B R from CSBS Department and Prof. Reshma B & Prof. Harishma K V from CSE Department coordinated the session.
This interdisciplinary program was designed to equip Level 2 and Level 3 students of both the MBA and BE streams with the essential framework required to transition innovative concepts into market-ready solutions. By merging business strategy with technical execution, the session provided a comprehensive look at the modern product development lifecycle. The primary objective of the session was to foster a collaborative "Product Mindset" across the engineering and management departments. The program aimed to demystify the complexities of moving from a basic prototype to a functional product, emphasizing the importance of Product-Market Fit (PMF) and lean development. Furthermore, it sought to introduce students to the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in accelerating the development of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), ensuring that students are prepared for the rapidly evolving standards of the global tech industry.
Participants concluded the session with a practical understanding of how to validate ideas quickly and efficiently using MVP strategies. The students gained critical insights into avoiding common pitfalls by testing market interest before full-scale production. A major takeaway was the importance of cross-functional collaboration; BE students learned to ground their technical designs in commercial reality, while MBA students learned the technical nuances of modern product builds. Ultimately, the session empowered students with the skills to use AI-driven tools to reduce time-to-market and build resilient, scalable products.
