Inauguration & Introduction to AWS

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, organized the inaugural event of AWS Cloud Club SIT titled “Inauguration & Introduction to AWS” on 28 April 2026 at Main Building Room 204. The event was attended by Dr. Suresha D (HOD-CSE), faculty members, and students. The objective of the program was to introduce students to AWS Cloud Club SIT, cloud computing, and the opportunities available through the club. The program began with an address by the HOD, who highlighted the importance of technical clubs in improving practical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and industry readiness. The club coordinators, Prof. Alwyn Edison Mendonca and Prof. Dikshith M B, explained the activities and opportunities offered through the club, including workshops, hackathons, technical sessions, and real-world projects. Tanush Balachandra Naik, AWS Cloud Club Captain, introduced the vision and mission of the club and encouraged students to actively participate in activities such as hands-on AWS sessions, certification guidance, leadership opportunities, and teamwork activities. It was also announced that the club would be renamed as AWS Student Builder Group SIT from 30 April 2026. The session also included an introduction to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the basics of cloud computing. Students learned about AWS services, cloud applications, and the “pay-as-you-use” pricing model. Videos and demonstrations were presented to help students understand real-world applications of cloud technology. The event concluded with an interactive discussion session where students clarified their doubts and showed interest in AWS technologies. Overall, the program successfully created awareness about cloud computing and motivated students to participate in future club activities focused on skill development and innovation.
