SOLVE-A-THON 1.0
The Department of MCA in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, organized “SOLVE-A-THON 1.0” – a 24-Hour National Level Hackathon on 20th and 21st February 2026 at the 4th Floor Auditorium of the institute.
The objective of the hackathon was to encourage students to develop innovative technological solutions for real-world problems through collaborative coding and creative problem-solving. The activity aimed to promote innovation, teamwork, and practical learning, aligning with the vision of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
The hackathon brought together enthusiastic participants from various technical backgrounds including MCA, MSc, BE, and BCA programs. Students worked in teams to analyze problem statements and design technology-driven solutions within a limited time frame. The event focused on transforming creative ideas into functional prototypes through coding, collaboration, and critical thinking.
During the 24-hour challenge, participants actively engaged in developing software solutions, building prototypes, and presenting their ideas. The teams worked intensively to design and implement innovative approaches to solve practical challenges. At the end of the hackathon, each team demonstrated their working prototype and presented their solution before the evaluation panel.
The hackathon provided students with an excellent platform to apply their technical knowledge, enhance their programming and analytical skills, and gain hands-on experience in solving real-world problems. It also encouraged collaborative learning, innovation, and creative thinking, which are essential skills in the modern technology landscape. The event was successfully coordinated by Prof. Swapnil Pai (Department IIC Coordinator) along with Dr. Praveen Shenoy K (IIC Coordinator) and the support of faculty members of the Department of MCA.
The participants appreciated the opportunity to engage in an intensive problem-solving environment and to showcase their innovative ideas. The hackathon successfully motivated students to explore technology-based solutions and innovation-driven development, thereby strengthening their technical competence and confidence.
The program concluded with appreciation for all participants, organizers, and evaluators for their valuable contributions. The activity effectively encouraged students to develop innovative technological solutions and entrepreneurial thinking, which aligns with the objectives of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).
