The Department of MCA in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Srinivas Institute of Technology organized a Session on “Problem Solving and Ideation” and a Workshop on “Developing, Training and Testing of AI Models” from 23rd to 25th October 2025 at M-402, starting at 9:00 AM.

The session was delivered by the Resource Person, Prof. Lokesha B, HOD, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil. During the first day, the resource person delivered an insightful talk on problem solving techniques, ideation methods, and the importance of innovation in developing AI-based solutions. The session focused on guiding students on how to identify real-world problems and develop systematic approaches to solve them using modern technological tools. The talk also emphasized the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in solving complex problems across different domains.

During the second day of the workshop, students actively participated in a hands-on session, where they were guided to develop a small Python-based project related to AI model development. The students learned the fundamental steps involved in developing, training, and testing simple AI models using Python, which helped them understand the practical implementation of concepts discussed during the session. The hands-on activity encouraged students to apply their theoretical knowledge and enhanced their programming and analytical skills.

The workshop provided a valuable platform for students to enhance their problem-solving abilities, innovation mindset, and practical exposure to AI model development. The interactive sessions helped students understand the workflow of building AI solutions, from problem identification to implementation.

The event was well coordinated by Prof. Swapnil Sunil Pai (Event Coordinator) along with Dr. Praveen Shenoy (IIC Coordinator) and the support of faculty members of the Department of MCA.The students appreciated the session and expressed that the workshop helped them gain practical exposure to AI concepts and Python programming, which will be beneficial for their future academic and professional pursuits.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the resource person for sharing his expertise and guiding the students, and acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team. The workshop successfully encouraged students to develop innovative thinking, problem-solving skills, and technical competence in AI and Python programming.
