The Department of Marine Engineering & Department MBA of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a session on “Innovation Ignition: Spark Creativity & Innovation by high School Students” on 23rd August 2025 to the students of Mount Carmel Central School, Marry Hill, Mangalore. The activity aimed to combine creativity with knowledge of technology by encouraging students to design and present models of technological devices using craft paper.

The focus was on developing innovative thinking and awareness of the role of technology in daily life. Students created paper models of various technological devices such as Vehicles, Wind Power, robots, rockets, satellites, and drones using colored craft paper and simple stationery. Each participant explained the importance and use of their chosen technology. The crafts were then displayed in a mini-exhibition within the classroom, allowing students to share their innovative ideas with peers. The session was coordinated by Prof.Chandra Jogi, Assistant Professor, Marine Department and Prof.Mallika, Assistant Professor MBA Department. Around 50 Students participated in the activity.
