An expert talk on “Innovation Meets Capital: Exploring Angel & VC Funding Avenues” was organized on 18th August 2025 by the Department of Information Science and Engineering in association with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The session was conducted for students to gain insights into the investment landscape, startup funding process, and the essential skills required to explore such opportunities.

The resource person for the session was Mr. Aditya Madhukar Bhat, Director of Swizosoft (OPC) Private Limited, who shared his expertise on angel and venture capital funding. He explained the processes involved in securing investments, investor expectations, and the significance of developing a strong business model and effective pitch presentation. With practical examples and real-world experiences, Mr. Aditya provided students with valuable guidance on navigating the complexities of startup financing. His talk not only enhanced their knowledge but also motivated them to think more confidently about pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in discussions and clarified doubts about investor networking, fundraising challenges, and scaling innovations into successful ventures. By combining theoretical insights with practical case studies, the expert talk offered students a holistic understanding of funding avenues and entrepreneurial growth.

The active leadership of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the IS&E Department, and the seamless coordination by Prof. Sowmya, IIC Event Coordinator from the Department of Information Science and Engineering, ensured the overall success of the program.
