The workshop on Prove propel :From Prototype to Startup Success

was held on 13th August 2025, organized by department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council(IIC). Prof. Jayaram Thumbe Associate Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering,SIT Mangaluru was the Resource Person for this Workshop

The main objective of the "Prove Propel: From Prototype to Startup Success" workshop was to bridge the gap between innovative ideas and viable business ventures. It aimed to equip students with practical knowledge, tools, and insights needed to transform a working prototype into a successful startup. The focus was on validating product ideas, understanding market needs, and preparing students for real-world entrepreneurial challenges.

Students gained exposure to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and were inspired to think innovatively and act on their ideas. The workshop provided hands-on experience in validating prototypes, which is a critical step in product development. Students learned how to navigate the journey from an idea to a scalable business model. Practice sessions helped students develop confidence in presenting their ideas effectively. Exposure to startup success stories and failures offered practical lessons beyond classroom learning.

The program was supported by our esteemed Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D and was successfully initiated and completed with efforts of Prof.Nagaraja Hebbar N, Head of the Al&DS, Prof.Ganapathi Sharma, IIC Coordinator.
