The Department of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDP Cell) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an Awareness Program on EDP Cell on 19th August 2025 at 11:00 AM in Room M501, Mechanical Block, SIT, Mangaluru. The session aimed to introduce students to the vision, mission, and objectives of the EDP Cell, highlighting its role in nurturing entrepreneurial skills and encouraging innovation. Third-year students from both the Aeronautical and Automobile Departments attended the program. Prof. Jagadeesh B, Assistant Professor and EDP Cell Department Coordinator, was the resource person for the program, and he provided valuable insights on startup opportunities, idea development, mentoring support, and government schemes that promote entrepreneurship. Students were also informed about various activities conducted by the Cell such as workshops, seminars, hackathons, business plan competitions, and industrial visits. The talk motivated participants to become innovators and job creators, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship in shaping future careers. The event concluded with an interactive session where students clarified their queries and gained practical knowledge about the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Awareness Program was led by Dr. Soorya Krishna K, EDP Cell Coordinator and Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai, Head of the Department of Automobile Engineering, with Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D emphasizing the significance of innovation. The event was efficiently organized under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Shenoy, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering and IIC Coordinator, while Mr. Jagadeesh B, EDP Cell Department Coordinator, played a key role in ensuring its seamless and successful execution.
