Idea to Innovation: From Project Work to Research Publication

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, organized an expert talk on “Idea to Innovation: From Project Work to Research Publication” on 25th August 2025. The session was delivered by Mr. Prashanth Kannadaguli, from Dhaarini Academy, Bengaluru.

The resource person provided valuable insights into transforming academic project work into impactful research contributions. He highlighted the importance of identifying innovative elements in student projects, documenting them systematically, and shaping them into quality research publications. Mr. Prashanth also elaborated on the process of selecting appropriate journals, structuring research articles, and adhering to ethical research practices.

The session encouraged participants to view their academic projects not merely as assignments but as potential research endeavors that can contribute to the academic community and industry. Students and faculty alike found the talk highly motivating, as it bridged the gap between classroom learning and research publication opportunities.

The success of the program was made possible through the support of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, whose vision fosters innovation and alumni engagement. The event also benefited from the active leadership of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department of Information Science and Engineering, and Prof. Archana Devadiga, Association Advisor of CODE, Department of CSE. The seamless coordination by Prof. Sowmya, IIC Event Coordinator, Alumni Cell Department Coordinator, and Advisor of AISE Association, Department of ISE, ensured smooth execution and enthusiastic participation from students. The program was also supported by Staff Coordinator: Prof. Aparna N, whose efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
