Heritage Visit – Rani Abbakka Tulu Adhyayana Kendra

The students of 3rd semester Computer Science and Business System visited Rani Abbakka Tulu Adhyayana Kendra on 29-12-2025. This visit was organized by Association of Computer Science and Business System (BASICS) Department. Heritage outreach program was organized with a intension of engaging with the community promoting cultural awareness and providing educational experiences. Dr. Thukaram Poojary, the center's Director, Historian, and Musicologist, captivated the students with an in-depth explanation of Rani Abbakka's legacy. He also highlighted the center's dedication to the collection and preservation of artefacts that reflect the rich history and cultural practices of the Tulu region.

The visit emphasized the significance of museums as bridges between the past and the future, with the center working tirelessly for over three decades to reconstruct and showcase the life and times of the Tulu people. Students gained valuable insights into the bravery of Rani Abbakka and the vibrant cultural heritage of Tulunadu, leaving them inspired to value and preserve the history of their homeland. Such experiences play a vital role in fostering cultural awareness and instilling a sense of pride and responsibility among future generations. The visit was led by Prof. Bhagyashree, Prof.Bhavishya and Prof. Shruthi, Assistant Professors of CSBS. The initiative was motivated and facilitated by Prof. Shailesh Shetty S, Head of the Computer Science and Business Department, whose efforts ensured the success of this enriching experience.
