SIT IIC and EDP Cell, in association with the Departments of ECE, CSBS, CSE, and AI-ML, organized a session on “Bolpu: From Innovation Validation to Startup Realization – Achieving Value and Business Fit” on August 26, 2025.

The session aimed to create awareness among students on transforming innovative ideas into sustainable startups by achieving value fit and business fit. Bolpu is a flagship initiative launched by Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta to foster and nurture entrepreneurship in the district.

The session was addressed by Mr. Vinyas Shetty, Mr. Avinash Alva, and Mr. Karthik Rai, who elaborated on the objectives of Bolpu, eligibility, and application process for student innovators. They also shared real-world case studies demonstrating how validated innovations can be scaled into viable startups.

The speakers highlighted the importance of innovation-driven entrepreneurship, encouraging students to view their academic projects as potential startup ventures. They also emphasized critical aspects of innovation validation, value creation, and business sustainability.

This event was organized and coordinated by Prof. Shailesh Shetty S. Around 200 students from the Departments of ECE, CSBS, CSE, and AI-ML actively participated and gained insights into innovation validation, startup conversion, and entrepreneurial opportunities through Bolpu.
