The Department of Marine Engineering at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, in association with the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), AIMES, and the Incubation & Start-Up Cell, organized a session on “Innovation and Start-Up Ecosystem Enablers from the Region Level” on 26th August 2025.

The session was delivered by Prof. Satyaprakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who served as the resource person. In his talk, he highlighted the significance of innovation-driven ecosystems in nurturing entrepreneurship and empowering regional enablers. He elaborated on the role of academic institutions, incubation centres, and industry collaborations in providing a supportive platform for budding entrepreneurs. The session also focused on practical aspects of building start-ups, scaling business models, and leveraging local resources to achieve sustainable growth.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Chandra Jogi, IIC Event Coordinator, Prof. Vivek V Kumar, AIMES Coordinator. The programme saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, showcasing the institute’s strong commitment to promoting entrepreneurial learning and innovation. The event was further supported and encouraged by Dr. Lokesh V, Head of the Department of Marine Engineering, and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of the Institute.
