Session on Robotics
On 23rd August 2025, the members of the TechBots SIT Club from the ECE Department, in association with IIC and STEADY, conducted an outreach session at the Atal Tinkering Lab of GHS School, Nada, Belthangady. A total of 13 members from the 5th semester participated in this activity, which was designed for high school students of classes 8, 9, and 10.
The main aim of the program was to spark curiosity and interest in technology among young students through interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and hands-on projects. The session began with a welcome address by a teacher of the host school, followed by an introduction from Safwan. Ashwin then delivered an engaging talk on AI tools, explaining their applications and future potential. This was followed by a live demonstration of an object-following robot developed by Priya, Gangothri, and Inchana, which captured the students’ keen interest.
After a short break, the program continued with interactive games to encourage participation and teamwork. The highlight of the session was the mini-project activity, where students were divided into three teams to work on practical tasks such as building a line-following robot, LED sensing using touch via Bluetooth, and a reverse camera system. These activities provided the students with real-time exposure to technology while enhancing their problem-solving and collaboration skills.
The event concluded with the distribution of sweets and a vote of thanks from a teacher of GHS School Nada, who expressed gratitude towards the TechBots SIT team.
The session proved highly successful in igniting enthusiasm for technology and innovation among the school students. At the same time, it offered TechBots SIT members a meaningful opportunity to share their knowledge, engage with young minds, and gain valuable mentoring experience.
