The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, under the STEADY Association, organized an engaging event titled “Colour and Contour Challenge – Sketching” on 26th August 2025 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru.

The competition aimed to encourage students’ creativity, artistic skills, and attention to detail while promoting cultural awareness. The theme for the event was “Cultural Heritage”, and participants were required to express their ideas through sketching using graphite, charcoal, or black pencils. The use of colored pencils or pens was strictly prohibited, ensuring uniformity and focus on shading, detailing, and technique.

Participants showcased their talent demonstrating their imagination, composition skills, and neatness. The evaluation was based on various criteria, including relevance to the theme, creativity, originality, shading, detailing, technique, and overall composition. Winners of the event are:

Second Place: PRAJETH (4SN23EC035)

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who displayed remarkable artistry and innovation. Through their sketches, they highlighted the richness and diversity of India’s cultural heritage. The event was successfully organized by Rishitha C Sanil (4SN23EC043) and Ananya (4SN23EC007).

The Colour and Contour Challenge was a grand success, achieving its objective of encouraging creativity, refining artistic skills, and fostering a competitive yet collaborative environment among students.
