Teachers’ Day Celebration by the Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, under the banner of the All Students Mechanical Association (ASMA), celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and respect on 5th September 2025 in the department seminar hall. The event was organized to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions of teachers in shaping the lives of students and guiding them towards a successful future.
The program commenced with a prayer song by Mr. Saikiran, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. A floral tribute was offered to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, whose birthday is commemorated as Teachers’ Day.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by the event coordinator Mr. Gowtham B. K. On this occasion, a felicitation ceremony was held to honor the Chief Guest of the function and Head of the Department of Physics, Dr. Suryanarayana K, for his dedicated service in the field of education. Students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the teachers through speeches and by sharing personal experiences that highlighted the strong bond between teachers and students.
The Presidential Address was delivered by the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Shankar K. S., who emphasized the importance of a teacher’s role not only in academics but also in nurturing discipline, values, and leadership qualities among students.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the event coordinator Mr. Safwan T. M., followed by the distribution of sweets. The event created a joyful and memorable atmosphere, strengthening the bond of respect and admiration between teachers and students.
The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. Sandesh K. S., ASMA Faculty Coordinator, and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru.
