The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a workshop titled “PlacePrep:Your Roadmap to Success” on 10th September 2025.

The resource person for the event was Dr Dheeraj Hebri, Head of Placement and trainings, who emphasized the importance of internships in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. He guided students on how to prepare for placements, outlining the necessary skills, communication strategies, and technical competencies required to succeed in recruitment drives. A key highlight of the session was his discussion on the role of GitHub as a professional portfolio platform. He explained how students can effectively use GitHub to showcase projects, collaborate, and even deploy applications to demonstrate practical skills to recruiters. Apart from this, he shared valuable insights on career planning, industry expectations, and the significance of consistent self-improvement. The session proved to be highly beneficial and motivating, providing students with a clear roadmap to enhance their readiness for future opportunities.
