National Engineers’ Day Celebration
The Department of Marine Engineering at Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with AIMES, celebrated National Engineers’ Day on 15th September 2025 to honour Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, whose life of innovation and public service exemplifies the transformative role engineers play in building India’s infrastructure, driving the digital economy, and advancing the blue economy.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Gangadhara Rao, Professor, Department of Aeronautical Engineering, who highlighted the significant contributions of engineers in nation-building. He urged students to emulate Sir M. Visvesvaraya’s vision, discipline, and integrity in their professional and personal lives.
Dr. Lokesh V., Head of the Department of Marine Engineering, reflected on his professional journey, formally welcomed the third-semester students, and emphasized the importance of ethical conduct, safety-first approaches, and sustainable practices in the maritime sector.
The programme began with an invocation by Devyani, 7th Semester, followed by a warm welcome address by Gagan, 5th Semester. Shravan, 7th Semester delivered a thoughtful note on the significance of Engineers’ Day, while Karthik, 7th Semester proposed the vote of thanks. The event was ably anchored by Prakruti, 5th Semester.
