On September 17, 2025, under the Institute’s Innovation Cell and the Association of Information Science and Engineering (AISE), the Department of ISE and Association of Computer Science and Design (ACODE), the Department of CSD organized a talk on the topic “Engineering Your Future: Skills, Opportunities, and Responsibility”. The session was delivered by Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department of ISE and CSD, exclusively for the students of 3rd semester ISE and CSD.

The talk focused on equipping students with the essential skills required for future engineers to thrive in the dynamic world of technology. The importance of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability in shaping a successful career was highlighted. The session also provided insights into the vast opportunities available in domains such as software development, data science, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, with emphasis on staying updated and proactive in learning.

Participants were introduced to competitive programming platforms such as LeetCode and HackerRank, which help in practicing coding problems to enhance logical thinking and technical competence. The talk also stressed the importance of improving placements preparation, communication skills, good behaviour, and moral values, recognizing that professional success depends equally on technical ability and personal character.

The session further emphasized the responsibilities that come with being an engineer, including ethical practices, social responsibility, and contributing positively to society. Interactive discussions encouraged students to reflect on their own career goals and motivated them to work with dedication and integrity.

The entire session was coordinated by Ms. Aparna N, faculty department of ISE. The event was well received, as it provided valuable knowledge on both professional growth and personal development. It proved to be a motivating and enriching experience, preparing students to take confident steps toward building their future in engineering.
