The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, inaugurated its departmental association, the Association of Students of Mechanical Association (ASMA), on 27th September 2025. The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries, faculty members, and a vibrant student gathering.

The ceremony began with an invocation and the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the spread of knowledge. A warm welcome was extended to the Chief Guest, Mr. Shyam Prasad Mudraje, CEO of Specialty Graphite’s, Puttur, who inspired the audience with thought-provoking words on innovation, teamwork, and the role of engineers in shaping the future.

The installation of office bearers brought new energy, as the student leaders took charge with enthusiasm and commitment. The Plan of Action, presented by the ASMA Faculty Coordinator, Prof. Sandesh K. S., outlined workshops, technical talks, competitions, and industrial visits aimed at nurturing creativity, technical expertise, and professional skills.

The Head of Department, Dr. Shankar K. S., congratulated the newly formed ASMA team and appreciated their enthusiasm in taking up leadership roles. He emphasized that the association should serve as a platform for innovation, technical growth, and teamwork among students, and inspired the gathering to actively participate in its initiatives to bring pride to the department.

The Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., who also presided over the inaugural function, delivered an encouraging address highlighting the importance of student associations in bridging academics with practical exposure. He motivated the students to dream big, take initiatives with confidence, and use ASMA as a platform to enhance both their professional and personal growth.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the audience inspired and motivated. The inauguration of the ASMA, Mechanical Department association set the tone for a year filled with learning, leadership, and innovation.
