The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Speciality Graphites, Puttur on 27th September 2025 at the college campus. The agreement aims to strengthen the collaboration between academia and industry, creating opportunities for students to gain hands-on industrial exposure, skill development, and research partnerships.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal, SIT Mangaluru, and Mr. Shyam Prasad Mudraje, CEO, Speciality Graphites, Puttur, in the presence of faculty members, staff, and students.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shyam Prasad Mudraje highlighted the importance of such collaborations in preparing students to meet industry requirements and encouraged students to make use of training and project opportunities through this partnership. Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D. emphasized that the MoU would provide a platform for internships, industrial visits, technical talks, and joint research, thereby bridging the gap between classroom learning and industrial practices.
