Dept. Aeronautical Engineering, MOU and Inauguration of Centre of Excellence

Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Srinivas Institute Technology, Mangaluru has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ziegler Aerospace, UK on 24th October 2019. Dr. A Srinivas Rao, Pro Chancellor, Srinivas University, Vice President, Srinivas Group of Institutions, Mangaluru along with Mr. Naresh S Solipur, Founder & CEO, Ziegler Aerospace, UK chaired the MOU signing ceremony.

Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, SIT Mangaluru welcomed the gathering and briefed about profile of Srinivas Institute of Technology, its vision and about the memorandum of understanding. Mr. Naresh S Solipur spoke about the vision of Ziegler Aerospace and the need of industry experience for the engineering students and the initiatives of Ziegler Aerospace to fulfill this commitment. Mr. Praveena B, 4th year, Aeronautical Engineering, SIT Mangaluru, hired by Ziegler Aerospace, spoke about the experience and the exposure being an intern at Ziegler Aerospace, Hyderabad. Dr. A Srinivas Rao, Pro Chancellor, Srinivas University, Vice President, Srinivas Group of Institutions, Mangaluru addressed the gathering thrusting on the importance and need for such an MOU which is in tune with the quality policy of the group of institutions run by A. Shama Rao foundation and its commitment towards value addition by imparting the industrial knowledge to the students.

Mr. Naresh S. Solipur during interaction with the students of Aeronautical Engineering, spoke in length about the aerospace industries, his life experience and journey as CEO of Ziegler Aerospace. He stressed on how Ziegler Aerospace is focused on “not merely training the students unlike others, but also to impart industrial experience through live industrial projects, and shape them as industrial professionals”. On this occasion, he presented the Ziegler Aerospace Employment ID cards to Mr. Praveena B, Mr. Prasanna Kumar S, Mr. Steve Johnson Lobo and Ms. Swathi P Shetty, 4th year students, Aeronautical Engineering, SIT Mangaluru, who worked as interns in Ziegler Aerospace corporate office in Hyderabad. Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde, HOD of Aeronautical Engineering, SIT, and Mangaluru spoke about the journey of setting up the Centre of Excellence with Ziegler Aerospace and thanked the management of SIT, Mangalore, Zeigler Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. and the gathering.

Centre of Excellence:

The SIT Mangalore-Ziegler Aerospace, Centre of Excellence was jointly inaugurated by Dr. A. Srinivas Rao and Mr. Naresh S Solipur. Ziegler Aerospace engineers shall henceforth work in association with Srinivas Institute of Technology with ‘select students’ on industrial projects in future, exclusively in SIT, Mangalore campus. Further, Ziegler Aerospace shall hire such students after their graduation.
