PAPER PRESENTED IN AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FUTURE OF CITIES : OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES AT NEW DELHI, INDIA
Mr. Jainam H Kothari, third year Architecture student presented a paper at the International Conference conducted by Institute of Town Planners, India on Future Of Cities : Opportunities And Challenges, 27 – 28th July 2017at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, India. The paper was written along with co-author Ms. Ashwathi S Nambiar, third year Architecture student under the guidance of Dr. Shaila Bantanur, Professor School of Architecture (SSA), Srinivas Institute of Technology.
They presented on “Intra Urban Migration : It’s Impact on Significance of a city – A case study of Sawantwadi”. Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Sh. Narendra Singh Tomar and Hon’ble Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Sh. Rao Inderjit Singh inaugurated the conference. The conference was focused on analysis of major challenges that the cities in developing countries would face in the future,witnessing around fifty presenters across India and abroad. Paper was focused on the academic study, off-line survey conducted by second year students of the city of Sawantwadi in Maharashtra, India. They would like to acknowledge the kind support of the Principal SIT, Dr.Srinivas Mayya D and Head of the Department of Architecture SSA.
